“…pure randomness.”

5 Oct

Now that it is October, there have been SO MANY advertisements about Haunted Houses.

Can someone please explain to me why anyone would like going to haunted houses?  How do people find fun in being scared half to death?!  I have never understood how people like scary movies either.  After watching one, I can’t sleep or walk around in my house without thinking every single noise is a serial killer out to hunt me down and chop me into tiny little bits!  I have nightmares for days and that’s only if I am actually able to get sleep.  Seriously, if you are someone who loves scary movies and haunted houses, tell me why!  I want to know because I just don’t get it.

I received good news this week!  I have been selected for a committee for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo!

I am now an official member of the Gatekeepers Committee and I am super pumped about it!  HLSR will run February 25th through March 17th.  The official entertainer lineup hasn’t been released yet but I will let you know once it is!

This past Monday, I took my first CrossFit class and I can still barely walk!  But I can honestly say, I think this is going to be the thing that works for me.  I have had gym memberships in the past but the things I have always lacked is the motivation and accountability factors.  CrossFit definitely provides both of those things for me.  I need that extra push provided by the trainers and the other people taking the classes.  They make me want to work harder.

My friend, Marco, and his fiance, Erin, opened CrossFit OverTake January 2012.  It is off Sawdust Road so if you are in the area, I highly suggest you check it out.  You can find more information at their website.

You can make up every excuse in the world about not getting back in shape and one that I’ve heard the most when it comes to CrossFit (even one that I also used in the past) was that you need to be in incredible shape before even starting CrossFit.  Well y’all know I am not in shape and so far, I have survived.  Sure it is challenging, but isn’t that the point?  You won’t get in better shape if you aren’t challenged.  Today will be my third class and I am actually excited.  I couldn’t tell you the last time I was excited to work out!  I signed up for a month so we will see how much I still love it once that time period is up!

I bought Joseph a guided fishing trip in Matagorda Bay for 3 people (it came with 3, not 2…no idea why) back in April for our anniversary.  We were scheduled to go in September but our guide fell out of the boat and cut his foot so he had to reschedule…kinda destroys some of my confidence in him but then again, my dad is great at fishing and he has fallen out of the boat plenty of times.  We are rescheduled to go on the trip tomorrow and I am very excited!  Joseph’s brother, Jeremy, will be joining us.  It has been almost a year since we have been bay fishing so wish us luck!

The last time we went bay fishing…pretty successful!

I hope all of us at least catch something so I don’t feel like I wasted my money.  If we are successful, I will be sharing pictures with you in the near future.
