New Year’s Eve

7 Jan

Did anyone have big plans for New Year’s Eve?

This year Joseph and I joined some of my friends from high school/really from like elementary school to celebrate the New Year and Big Kat’s birthday!

Big Kat’s birthday is on the 1st and he has never really had a birthday party as an adult because people are always either celebrating the New Year or too hung over from celebrating the New Year.  So this year, we made it more about him than bringing in 2013!

Big Kat put on Preson's shirt so he could have more neon :-)

We decided to make it themed so we went with NEON!  Everyone was supposed to dress up in at least one thing neon and surprisingly, the majority participated!

Unfortunately, like previous years in the past, this year it was rainy/misty and humid so my hair did not stay as cute and curly as planned.  Also, if you are wondering…that is dog slobber on my neon pants from the two horses Gina and Morgan call dogs (they are Great Danes).

Here’s another fun fact as to why I support Kohl’s so much:  You see what I am wearing?  I got that yellow/green shirt and those skinny jeans for $0.90!  Yes, 90 whole cents for my outfit!  Technically I had $20 Kohl’s cash from previous Christmas purchases and a 15% off coupon but the $20 was free and it was the last day and Joseph and I couldn’t find anything we were dying to have so I went with a neon outfit for the night. 🙂  Even if I didn’t have the Kohl’s cash, that still would have been a great deal!  $20.90 for a shirt and skinny jeans?!  Only at Kohl’s!

We played beer pong, flip cup, Just Dance on the Wii (really Morgan did most of the dancing) and watched the ball drop.

We had champagne to celebrate at midnight and the guys put Joseph up to giving Big Kat a Champagne Shower at the end of our countdown!  For those of you who have never experienced a Champagne Shower, it is when you shake up the bottle then pop the cork over someone so the champagne goes all over them.  Joseph felt terrible and didn’t want to do it but the guys kept egging him on and Big Kat was super cool about it!  It was a birthday Champagne Shower and it was his first so he was happy.  He said he saw it coming when he noticed Joseph shaking the champagne bottle by him so he just embraced it!

It was a fun night to celebrate the New Year and the birth of our friend!  I have a feeling 2013 is going to be a great year!

Happy New Year Everyone!
