Holli and Morgan’s Wedding

16 Jan

So somehow I went all of last week without posting about Holli’s wedding!  No idea how that happened but I thought about it last night and couldn’t believe I didn’t post this last week!

Anyways, Holli’s wedding was on January 5th in Conroe.  Her ceremony took place at the Methodist Church and it was still decorated with their Christmas decorations and it was so pretty!

January 5th also happened to be the first Texans play-off game against the Bengals and the ceremony fell right in the middle of it.  Neva and I decided it was the Texans fault, not Holli’s, because if they would have played better towards the end of the season, they would have had a bi that week.

Either way, Joseph wasn’t going to be kept from keeping up with the game…

In fairness to him, he is a boy who likes football and it was the playoffs and conveniently the ceremony was basically just all of halftime so he didn’t actually look at his phone the whole time during the ceremony, just the time leading up to it and afterwards.

The ceremony was quick, like all Methodist weddings, and Holli looked absolutely beautiful!!

We drove over to the reception site, grabbed some cheese, crackers, and fruit (as well as our adult beverages) and visited with everyone until the Bridal Party arrived.

As soon as they arrived, each member of the Bridal Party was introduced and when Holli and her new husband, Morgan, came in, they went directly into their first dance.

Unfortunately, a lot of my pictures are pretty dark so bear with me…I’m not sure what was going on with my camera that night.

After their dance, we had some pretty tasty BBQ for dinner then they cut their cake.

Again, I have no idea what was going on with my camera because I didn't intend to make that picture look "antiqued" but I guess it worked out well...

Next, they did their Father-Daughter and Mother-Son Dances.

Now, this entire time I haven’t shed a tear.  I thought I was going to be good and not be a little baby and tear up like I have been known to do as of the past few years at weddings.  I made it through the ceremony and I thought I was in the clear.  I don’t know what it is about Father-Daughter dances, but they get me every time.

I know it is hard to see anything in that picture because it is so dark but this is the point where I teared up at Holli’s wedding.  I don’t think I have EVER seen Holli cry and I have known this girl since elementary school.  But during her dance with her dad, she stopped and held her face because she started crying.  Boom.  Let the tears fill the room because every other female in there followed her lead!  Isn’t it funny how those things happen?  It was adorable and so incredibly sweet.

After the dances, they got the party started and everyone hung out, danced, drank, and had a good time.

The wedding was beautiful and it was great getting to catch up with people we hadn’t seen in a while!

Congrats to the Newlyweds!
