Lauren & Donald’s Wedding

11 Apr

Saturday night was our friend, Donald’s wedding!  Me, Joseph, Zach, Kooken, Joey, Stephen, and Justin all drove out to New Braunfels to celebrate with Donald and his fiance/new bride, Lauren.

We got to New Braunfels, checked into our hotel, changed, then headed to the venue, which was The Gardens of Cranesbury.

The boys had to pile in the back because Kooken and I were in dresses and didn't want to have to step back there with our rear ends everywhere :-)

On the way to the wedding

Joey, Zach, and Stephen (don’t they clean up well?) had to pile in the back because Kooken and I were in dresses and we didn’t want to have to step back there with our rear ends everywhere 🙂

The ceremony was outside and the weather was perfect!

That’s the gazebo outside where they got married.  That’s not them…it’s just a picture from the website but I just wanted you to see how pretty it was.

The ceremony was short and sweet.  Then we headed over to the back patio area for beer and wine (and the flasks that the boys brought) and some hors d’oeuvres while the bridal party took their pictures.  Because the weather was beautiful outside and we had alcohol and appetizers, the cocktail hour didn’t seem very long at all because we were happy to be outside visiting with everybody.

Donald's cake was Kyle Field!

Donald’s cake was a Kyle Field replica!

Dinner was amazing.  It was a chicken fried chicken type dish, with the best salad I have ever had in my life, veggies and mashed potatoes!  Yum!  After dinner, they cut the cake, had their first dance, father-daughter dance, and mother-son dance.  Then the party started!

Dancing at DonaldsWe did line dances, had dance circles, two-stepped, and Zach even did the worm…

It was a lot of fun.  I think dancing makes or breaks a wedding and this one was definitely made by it!

Garter Toss

Garter Toss

If you look closely, in that red circle, that is Joseph in the back ducked down so that there was NO way he could catch the garter…he thought I didn’t notice and he played it off like he wasn’t ducking…last time I checked, he wasn’t shorter than Justin, who is right in front of him…busted, Joseph.

The garter actually stuck to Justin’s tie and he freaked out and flung it back into the air.  It was like they were playing hot potato.  Pretty comical to watch.

The wedding was a lot of fun and I am so happy for Donald & Lauren!  Congrats and I wish you guys a lifetime of happiness!!
