Ali & Daniel’s Wedding

21 Oct

The first weekend in October was Daniel and Ali’s wedding weekend!!

Their wedding was in College Station so Friday afternoon Joseph and I drove out to CS to check into the hotel and get ready for the rehearsal.

The wedding was at 7F Lodge which was a beautiful venue with an adorable white chapel.  The ceremony was outside by the white chapel and the reception was under a covered area near the chapel.

During the rehearsal the weather was SOOO HOT.  It was humid and I was literally dripping sweat.  I was praying that it cooled off for the actual ceremony so everyone wasn’t miserable.  Other than the heat, the rehearsal went well.  Once we were done, we headed over to Cafe Capri for the rehearsal dinner.  It was a lot of fun and if it was any indication on how Saturday would go, I knew we would have a great time!

Saturday morning rolls around.  The boys all go to breakfast then to Northgate to play dominoes at the Chicken while the girls have breakfast at the hotel then head to two connecting rooms to get our hair done and to do our make-up.

Oh and did I mention, lots of mimosas?

This is actually beer in my glass because we ran out of mimosas but it looks like champagne

Once we were all ready except for putting on our dresses, the guys and girls (minus Ali) took a bus over to the venue from the hotel.

The guys and girls hung out in separate cabins until it was time for pictures.  Daniel and Ali did a first look before the ceremony so we took group pictures before all of the guests arrived.

The weather for Saturday was absolutely perfect!  They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!  It was amazing!  The sun was shining but there was a cool front that came through so it was literally perfect weather.  Much better than the day before, that’s for sure!

Ali walked down the aisle to “Here Comes the Sun” and it was super cute.  And she looked GORGEOUS!

Their ceremony was precious.  It was very personalized and sweet and romantic and I may or may not have cried when Daniel was saying his vows to Ali.  I could see his face and he had a look of so much love and he meant every word and it was just super sweet.

After the ceremony was over, the guests went inside/under the covered area while Daniel and Ali took the big family pictures.  Then all of us were announced and the party began!

I can’t tell you the last time I was at a wedding and only left the dance floor for one song…and that was only because I needed to use the ladies’ room!  It was a blast!

In college, Daniel would always since and dance to “I Wanna Be Your Man” by Zapp & Roger.  Don’t know the song?  Watch the YouTube video here.  Well Ali surprised Daniel by playing the song and it turned into Daniel and his roommates/groomsmen singing and dancing for Ali.  It was phenomenal.  Sadly I don’t have any pictures other than the one below but I do have a pretty awesome video.  Unfortunately, I am too cheap to buy the video plug on here so I can’t show it to you.  Maybe one day I will figure out YouTube and start posting videos there so I can add the link to my blog….maybe I’ll find time for that…one day.  Not today.

Daniel and Ali’s exit was via rose petals thrown and a pedicab that read “Just Married” on the back.

After the reception was over, the party bus took all of us (minus Daniel and Ali, obviously) back to the hotel, then we went out to celebrate a little more on Northgate.

As we were walking up from the parking lot, a pedicab guy stopped and said, “Did y’all just come from a wedding at 7F Lodge??” And we said, “Why yes we did.  How did you know?”  Then he swapped out his sign on the back to reveal the “Just Married” sign.  Apparently he was the pedicab guy that drove Daniel and Ali away!! So obviously, we took a picture with him.

The wedding was so much fun!  I am so happy for Daniel and Ali and I wish them a lifetime full of happiness!
