Thanksgiving and Christmas

19 Jan

Welp…I’ve dropped the ball again.  Shocker.  I missed Thanksgiving and Christmas posts on here so I am going to do a quick recap…

Thanksgiving

I know I showed you my decorations for Halloween in my previous post, It’s Fall Y’all.

So basically, for Thanksgiving, they were exactly the same thing minus the ghosts and things directly associated with Halloween.

On Thanksgiving Day we went to my Grandma’s house with my mom’s family and obviously ate way too much.  But then again, what would Thanksgiving be without feeling miserably full and being thankful that you can be in such a predicament? It was wonderful, as always, to get to spend time with my Grandma and rest of our family.

We hosted Joseph’s family’s Thanksgiving this year at our house which I quite enjoyed.  I always like hosting events and it was nice to get to have his whole family over at one time.  We didn’t have this Thanksgiving until the Sunday after Thanksgiving due to some of the family being out of town.  I normally decorate for Christmas on Black Friday (or even the night of Thanksgiving) and since I still wanted our Thanksgiving dinner to feel like Thanksgiving, I left up those decorations instead of getting the house ready for Christmas.

Christmas

Christmas is a busy time for a lot of people.  I feel like we have a ridiculous amount of Christmas activity for two people with both sets of parents still being married.  We still do Christmas with each side of both parents’ families along with the parties and events with our friends.  Did you catch that?  That means we had the following schedule…

December 6th – Christmas with Joseph’s Dad’s family

December 13th – Tacky Christmas Sweater party at our house

I just wanna have abs-olutely all the Christmas Cookies!

December 20th – Our neice, Chloe, had a Dance Recital in the afternoon & Christmas party at my friend, Neva’s mother-in-laws

December 24th (Christmas Eve) – Lunch with Joseph’s Mom’s family & Dinner with my Mom’s side at Grandmas

December 25th (Christmas Day) – Joseph and I had our Christmas just the two of us at our house & Breakfast with my parents

Joseph and my new gifts - he got me a new hand gun and I got him a 24-gun safe

December 27th – Christmas with my Dad’s family

Did you count them?  That would be NINE, yes the number before 10, Christmas events!

I didn’t think delaying putting up my Christmas decorations would be that big of a deal BUT since I would’ve normally had Thanksgiving evening and all day on Friday plus the entire weekend, it all would’ve been up in no time.  Unfortunately since I ended up having to put up everything after work, it seemed like it took FOREVER.  I finally finished everything before our Tacky Christmas Sweater party.  But I was very happy with the results….

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas!  Maybe next year I will actually do this in time to wish you one before the fact…only time will tell though! 🙂
